Bright Stars Forever is
a safe place. A place where your memorials to your animal companions are
met with respect, understanding, and appreciation for the bond that
you shared.
We welcome your tributes
and understand the void of your pet's absence. Through our memorials, we
fill a part of that void by celebrating the gift of having shared
our lives with that special animal
companion.
All pet
memorials belong here; cats, dogs, horses, birds, rabbits, ferrets and
all others whom you have loved and lost. Pet loss support information, in
addition to or in place of a memorial, is also welcome as a ring member
site.
This webring was created in honor of my bright star, Bronson, my canine
soulmate who is no longer with me physically, but whose spirit still dances
and whose soul rests gently in my heart.
Important!
PLEASE do not submit
your memorial for ring membership until you have read and agreed to
our ring requirements below.
One of our most important requirements is one which is often ignored, requiring
the ring owner to write and repeat that it be honored before ring membership
can be activated. This primary requirement is that the Bright Stars Forever
webring graphic is to be placed on, and remain on, your main memorial
page and NOT on a page of webrings.
If we were only interested in gaining as many new members as possible, we
would not have this requirement. It exists because of the unique
sensitivity of pet loss. In order to help our members honor their cherished
pets...and to facilitate bereaved visitors...your ring graphic must appear
on your memorial page. Your memorial will receive many visitors from
your Bright Stars Forever ring membership and we want to make it as easy
as possible for everyone to go directly to the memorial itself.
Thank you for respecting the purpose and the spirit of the Bright Stars
Forever Pet Memorial Webring. You are joining a wonderful family of pet
memorials.

This is how your
ring graphic should appear on your memorial, with your own
site title. If it does not look as above on your memorial, contact
ring owner for assistance.
Under no circumstances is the graphic to be downloaded from this site. It
will automatically appear on your memorial when you paste the html ring
code onto your page. Graphic may not be
altered.
Note:
A webring is NOT a link directory. Please only submit your site if
you plan to place our webring graphic on your pet's
memorial.
Hoofbeats In Heaven is a sister
site
to Bright Stars Forever.
It is an equine memorial webring
created to honor the horses we have
loved and lost.
It is with
heartfelt appreciation
that I thank dear Misty and her mom
for this unexpected and beautiful award.
It is an honor.
WebRing
membership is granted at the sole discretion of the ring owner who retains
the right
to refuse or discontinue membership of any
site.
1. The site you submit for
ring membership fits one or both of the following two descriptions:
a. A memorial/tribute to your pet(s).
b. Pet loss content such as poems/prayers/stories that help one prepare for
the loss of their pet and/or helps after their pet is gone.
2. Bright Stars Forever is not a general pet webring, but is a very special
pet memorial webring created solely to pay tribute to, and be part of, your
pet's memorial. With this in mind, the Bright Stars Forever ring graphic
MUST be placed on the main page of your memorial/pet loss
information, and NOT on a page of webrings or none-pet loss page.
This is to enable visitors who may have lost a pet to be taken directly
to the pet loss site they are expecting to find. Our feedback is
that if they are taken instead to a page of webrings or non-memorials, they
will simply continue on to the next ring site and miss your memorial
altogether.
The webring graphic must remain on
the page that you submitted for membership. If you change the ring
location, you will be asked to return it to the location under which you
were accepted. Non-compilance will have to mean that your membership is
discontinued.
3. This webring was created to be
placed on personal pet memorial and pet loss support information sites.
If you are selling pet loss related products or services, it will be
up to the discretion of the ring owner to decide as to the suitibility of
the product or service for inclusion in the
webring.
4. Since Bright
Stars Forever will bring your memorial many visitors, your site
must be working correctly; graphics and animation can be seen,
menus work and links are active. Special effects must be seen by the majority
of computer users and do not crash browsers. If your site is not finished
but is currently "under construction", please wait to join until
your memorial is completed.
5. The url of your memorial that you submit for membership must
be the page on which you place the Bright Stars Forever html ring code
(graphic). 6. We have worked
hard to create the Bright Stars Forever ring graphic to
have a specific appearance and be a specific size. We assume
that your interest in joining our ring means that you will
respect this and will not alter the graphic in any way.
Changing the size of the graphic, the links, the link order,
etc. will result in refusal or termination of your membership. Comparing
your ring graphic to the sample above on the Bright Stars Forever home
page (or on our member sites) will show you exactly how the graphic
is to appear.
7. If your memorial meets the above requirements, please correctly
place your html ring code (that will be mailed to you as
soon as you complete the submission info) on the main page of your memorial
within 7 days of submission. After 7 days, submissions will automatically
be removed from the webring queue. You are invited to resubmit your site
when you are
ready.
8. It is the members' responsibility to keep their ring information
current. If your e-mail address and/or memorial url changes, and
you do not update your information or ask the ring owner to do so for you,
a portion of the webring will become disabled and your site will
need to be removed from the
ring.
9. If your memorial is associated with a
larger site, that site must be family friendly and appropriate for children
to visit.
1. Sites that only want the Bright Stars Forever ring graphic on
their page(s) of webrings. This location defeats the purpose of
our ring paying tribute to your pet's memorial. It also means
our webring visitors will not find the memorial they expect to find and will
just continue on to the next memorial site. The ring graphic, therefore,
must be placed on your main memorial/pet loss page.
2. Sites that are not working correctly. Examples are graphics
that don't load, animation that doesn't work, menus that go nowhere
and /or inactive links. Sites with special effects that can't be seen by
the majority of computer users, or that crash browsers, or sites under
construction can not be accepted. We invite you to resubmit your site for
membership when the above has been rectified.
3. Sites that sell products or services...unless...they include a separate
pet memorial area. Final determination of acceptance of a business
site is up to the discretion of the ring owner.
4. Sites that do not
correctly place the Bright Stars Forever ring graphic on their memorial page
within 7 days of submission.
5. Sites that alter the ring code or show a distorted Bright Stars Forever
ring graphic. Changing the ring code in any way (size of graphic,
links, link order, etc.) or failure to correct distortion, will result
in nonacceptance of your site, or termination of your membership if
your site was originally accepted.
A webring links
websites with similar subject content together in a circle, or ring. Each
webring has its own distinctive graphic which is placed on each member site.
When you visit one site, you can then click on the webring graphic
to go to adjacent sites in the ring - and - if you do it long enough - you
end up back at the first site you visited.
Webrings ensure that you are visiting actively maintained virtual
communities of webpages on the internet. Each site in a specific webring
displays identical code and graphics to facilitiate ring surfing.
Webrings provide benefits for both visitors and site owners:
Visitors: Webrings pull related sites together into easily explored groups
so you can quickly and easily navigate related websites organized by
areas of interest. No need to endlessly return to search engines to find
additional websites that match your interests. Just click on the
webring link to continue on to the next same-subject site!
Site Owners: Joining a webring is the best way to increase traffic to your
site. You receive not just random hits, but hits from people actively
seeking information about the topic your site provides.
Note: A webring is NOT a link directory. Please only submit your site
if you plan to place our webring graphic on your pet's
memorial.
1. Click on the 'Submit your
memorial for ring membership' link above and enter the required
information.
Note: Please be sure that
the url you enter on the submit form matches the url of the main page
of your pet's memorial and is not a url to your page of webrings.
Thank you!
2. DO NOT
download ring graphic to your hard drive. Simply copy and
paste onto your memorial page your html ring code that will be mailed
to you as soon as you submit your information. Do not alter the code
in any way.
3. Save the e-mail that includes your Ring ID, Site ID and password as you
will need this information should you ever want to edit your site
information.
4. When you have placed
your html ring code on your memorial page, your site will
automatically be placed in the webring queue. Ring owner will make sure
that the code appears properly and is working correctly and will then add
your site to the ring within 7 days.
You're done! It's that easy to become a member!
One more thing. If the webring text color conflicts with your background,
the ring owner will be happy to advise you on how to change your text color.
Or if you prefer, we can tell you how to place a solid color background behind
the text portion of the graphic.
It
is each member's responsibility to keep your site information current (ex:change
of url and/or e-mail address). Failure to notify us of a new url
means no one will be able to visit your site. It also means the ring
will have a dead link which will disable a portion of Bright Stars
Forever.
While we hope you will be a permanent ring member, if you ever choose
to leave, please let me know so that your site can be removed and the ring
kept in working order. To update your information or to get your html ring
code, you may login below. Thank you for your
consideration!
If you have forgotten
or lost your Site ID and/or password, or you need your html ring
code, e-mail me and I'll
have RingSurf mail the information directly to you.
